Where are you based?
We are in Zurich and we produce all our products within a radius of 140km.
What triggered your interest in skincare?
My mother. When I was a girl, I always admired my mom's makeup and beauty routine. Always loved watching her do it. Then when I got older, I started borrowing her stuff. She has always wondered why her products are so quickly empty. One day she gave me my own beauty set. From a marketing perspective, I found it super interesting how companies manage to get women to buy these products. That's why I decided to work at L'Oréal after graduating.
What inspired reBELLE?
I thought about how I wanted to name the brand for a long time. Somehow I was not happy with everything and I did not want a fantasy name. When I was doing yoga at home during the 2nd lockdown, I noticed the magazine annabelle on my table. And I thought I should make more out of BELLE and interpret this in a modern way. That's how reBELLE came into live.
The logo is beautiful, what was the design process like?
I consciously wanted to get away from the typical beauty logos and dare something new. Something that at first glance is not necessarily perceived as beautiful but attracts attention. The logo of reBELLE Beauty is built according to the rules of the Fibonacci sequence. In nature, it is the blueprint for countless plants that appear particularly harmonious and beautiful: from the sunflower to the daisy to the pineapple. This wild perfection, which seems random at first glance, is the template for reBELLE Beauty. The logo brings together natural beauty, freedom and independence without being chaotic.
Do you have any advice for entrepreneurs wanting to start their own project?
Difficult for me to answer because I come from the business side. But I think it's always important to have a clear vision and not just copy something. You have to have a well thought-out concept that not only looks good, but also pays off. And then you have to believe in it so much that you convince everyone of your vision.
What comes next?
We are super busy with the launch of the new product. At the end of August we will bring out The Cleanser. I'm really looking forward to it, because then we will be able to offer a complete reBELLE beauty routine. And then the preparations for Xmas will already start.
